The Guest House
Smithfield House is located in the Free State Platteland, 130 km south of Bloemfontein on the
N6. It is the ideal overnight stop on all major routes.
The house is situated on five acres offering a rural experience with country comforts. Relax
on the veranda while enjoying the sunrise or sunset, or experience the beautiful starry night
sky away from the sounds and lights of the city.
Accommodation is available in three guest suites each individually decorated with an en-suite
bathroom. The rooms include seating areas and access to complimentary beverage making
facilities. There are no self-catering or braaiing facilities. Meals are served on request with
prior notice. To experience more of what Smithfield has to offer, the hostess can direct you to local eateries. All eateries are within 1 km of the property.
The location provides diverse opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain
biking, jogging or canoeing. Visitors are also warmly welcomed at the 9-hole golf course.

Our Sanctuary
Smithfield Animal Sanctuary is situated on the same property as Smithfield House. Relying on donations, the sanctuary is home to many rescued adult and newborn animals. The animals come to us to be saved and cared for when their circumstances require our intervention. We strive to provide the animals everything necessary for a healthy life in a safe environment.
Guests are able to interact with the animals, making this a real haven to break away to.
